ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Rooted in emotion, Douglas draws much of his writing inspiration from his observations of Canadian society, noting its intersections, its effects on the human condition, as well as its correlations to his own pluralistic identity: a multilingual Christian man of Plains Cree, Saulteaux, Swedish, Scottish, and British descent, raised in part in the Nigerian community of Saskatchewan, with experience living in British Columbia and Quebec... Blending together his signature style of literary fiction, magical realism, and at times even romantic comedy, Douglas navigates readers through the multi-facets of what it can mean to be human in contemporary Canada.
