ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Rooted in reflection, Douglas draws much of his writing inspiration from his observations of Canadian society, noting its intersections, its effects on the human condition, as well as its correlations to his own pluralistic identity: a multilingual Christian man of Plains Cree, Saulteaux, Swedish, Scottish, and British descent, raised in the Ukrainian Belt of Saskatchewan in a close-knit Nigerian community, with experience living in both Quebec and British Columbia... Blending together his signature style of literary fiction, magical realism, and at times even romantic comedy, Douglas navigates readers through the multi-facets of what it can mean to be human in contemporary Canada.
